Behas
Indirapuram Public School, Crossings Republik, is proud to host the BEHAS (Behes) debate program, which provides students with a dynamic and engaging platform for honing their debating skills. BEHAS adopts a simplified parliamentary format, serving as an ideal introduction to the more formal APD (Asian Parliamentary Debate) format commonly used in universities worldwide. This format encourages a fluid exchange of facts, statistics, rhetoric, and arguments, creating a lively and interactive debating environment.
Participating in BEHAS fosters significant development in a range of capabilities and skills. **Research skills** are enhanced as students gather and analyze information to build robust arguments. **Analytical skills** are sharpened through the process of evaluating diverse perspectives and constructing coherent responses. **Collaborative skills** are cultivated as students work in teams to strategize and refine their debating points, while **linguistic skills** and **oratory faculties** are significantly improved through regular practice in public speaking and argumentation.
The BEHAS program not only enhances these core skills but also ensures that students can communicate their knowledge effectively and persuasively, making the learning process both engaging and impactful. The program’s emphasis on a wide variety of topics and debate styles helps students become well-rounded communicators and critical thinkers.
Moreover, BEHAS alumni have demonstrated the program’s long-term value, with approximately 200 former participants each year successfully transitioning from high school to prestigious universities around the world, leveraging their debating experience in academic and professional contexts. This testament to the program's effectiveness highlights its role in preparing students for future success.
